Midwest Expansion
Reaching the Midwest. Reaching the Nations.
IFM Bloomington is more than a single-campus ministry. It functions as the strategic hub of IFM’s Midwest Expansion—a growing vision to establish healthy, disciple-making ministries to international students across key university cities in the region. Our aim is straightforward: to place equipped, confident staff on campuses where thousands of future global leaders study, ensuring they encounter Jesus here and can one day carry the gospel back to their nations.
To accomplish this, we follow a simple, intentional strategy. First, we build a strong training and sending center in Bloomington that forms, equips, and mentors new staff. Then, we launch those staff—fully prepared and supported—to new campuses where international students are highly concentrated yet significantly under-served.
A critical advantage for new staff is IFM’s Unique and Supportive Funding Model, designed to help you begin ministry work immediately rather than spending months (or years) fundraising. During your first three years, IFM provides a tiered support supplement that covers a substantial portion of your financial needs—50% in year one, decreasing gradually as your partnership team grows. This structure gives you stability from day one and the freedom to focus on building relationships, serving students, and establishing new ministries while developing a sustainable base of long-term partners.
This combination—clear vision, intentional training, and a genuinely supportive funding model—enables IFM to send out staff who are spiritually grounded, practically equipped, and financially supported to plant thriving international student ministries across the Midwest. If you want to begin meaningful ministry immediately while being set up for long-term success, the Midwest Expansion is the opportunity.
