IFM Midwest Expansion Plan

1. A Strategic Gospel Opportunity
International Friendship Ministries (IFM) exists to reach the world through international students in America. With over 1 million international students from 200+ countries studying in the U.S., IFM sees a God-given opportunity to disciple the future global leaders already among us—right here, right now. These students often return to their home countries as influencers—lawyers, professors, engineers—equipped to spread the gospel in places traditional missions cannot reach.

2. A Proven, Replicable Model
For over 20 years, IFM has built a dynamic ministry in Bloomington, IN. The “Btown Model” is unique: it is discipleship-focused, student-led and volunteer-supported, and deeply integrated with local churches. This model has produced long-term spiritual fruit, helping students not only come to faith but thrive spiritually after returning home.

3. Why the Midwest?
Twelve of the top 40 U.S. universities hosting international students are located in the Midwest. Bloomington is strategically positioned to serve as a hub to replicate IFM’s model in other Midwest university towns. The Midwest is a ripe mission field, and IFM is ready to respond with a tested model and trained leaders.

4. The Expansion Plan
IFM’s five-phase expansion framework includes pre-launch research, staff training, strategic church partnerships, launch activities, and long-term mentorship and sustainability. The goal is not merely to launch ministries, but to build resilient, replicable, and self-sustaining chapters that multiply IFM’s impact across the region.

5. Financial Need & Invitation to Partner
To scale effectively, IFM is seeking $130,000 in funding for:

  • $35,000 for the Rajamani family’s continued leadership
  • $25,000 for a part-time expansion support staff (and additional $30,000 to make it full-time)
  • $40,000 to hire and launch two new staff. This funding will directly empower the vision to disciple international students, raise indigenous leaders, and multiply gospel presence throughout the Midwest.

6. Why Now?
The infrastructure is ready, the need is great, and the momentum is building. Your investment will help IFM seize this strategic moment to expand its reach and equip more students to become Christ-centered leaders across the globe.
